In this episode Exec. Producer, Tina, had the opportunity to interview Jefferson Stein who is the Writer and Director of the short film
"Burros". Burros was filmed in various locations on the Tohono O'odham Nation and tells the story of a young O'odham girl and a lost migrant child who's been separated from her father while passing through the rez. This film features familiar areas of O'odham jewed, the language, toka game, food, etc. It truly depicts the O'odham lifestyle in a way that hasn't been captured before on film. Though a fictional story, it is a very real representation of what we see here in the borderlands of southern Arizona. This short film has recieved international recognition and awards for it's unique and insightful depiction through the lens of a childs experience living in an area where many still exist in a cross-border way of life.
